Premises of the Film

The storyline follows Arthur Fleck ( later Joker) who is a standup comedian suffering from a neurologic disorder. Arthur is a party clown who faces bitter realities of life in form of unemployment, rejection, and his delusional disease also contributes to making him a sociopath. He faces troubled speaking, can burst into laughter in irrelevant situations which the world doesn’t accept. The series of consistent rejection from society and his loved ones turns him into a psychopath serial killer.

The single mother Sophie is Arthur’s neighbor who he fancies. Arthur had hallucinations of having a romantic relation with Sophie. Arther romanced with Sophie which later revealed upon him as a mere delusion. This is clear by a happening when Arthur goes to his apartment and Sobpie asks him to leave. Sophie’s role is portrayed by Zazie Beetz.
